OUR PLEDGE:
Dear Tomas,

As citizens of the United States and in honor of your memory, we pledge to work steadfastly to make sure we have a healthcare system that does not allow people in pain to suffer as you have been forced to suffer, and to make certain we elect public servants who do not squander American lives as the Bush administration and the congress serving at that time squandered yours.

We see you. We hear you. We will not remain passive. We will not be silent.

Farewell, Tomas, and thank you.

signed petition earlier--noted now. This is really important and worth finding time to watch--we owe it to those who went to war for our nations.

I Love a veteran who gets absolutely no benefits from the VA.
He can't even talk about being in cambodia, it was an illegal action, and before the police action was official.
He got shot, had a collapsed lung, and gets 0 benefits.
He had to sign a "secrets act disclaimet"
They have no record of that crime against humanity and young patriotic soldiers.
Ty Dandelion.

I hear you Tasunka. A good friend of my late husband was in the same type of situation. He had a wife and child to take care of and couldn't get any help. Thankful his wife worked, but he always felt badly upon it, felt this wasn't the way it should be, her supporting him and their child. He died an early age, leaving a wife and daughter in her teens.

Many things the general public are unaware of. The suffering that goes on.

Signed, noted and shared. I hope he does not suffer any more than he already is, but starvation is a horribly slow way to go. May he find peace..and damn the buttwads who have done this to so many.

Tasunka? I learned at the age of 20, in June 1970, that I could not believe a word my government told me. I had just finished helping load a payroll into a helicopter (two things the army didn't mess with were your mail and your pay, you got both, no matter where you were) which was going to Cambodia to pay our troops there. After I'd done that I picked up a copy of the Stars and Stripes, our "newspaper" and on the front page in bold banner headline print was a statement by then President Nixon saying to the American people, including those of us IN Viet Nam AND Cambodia, that America had NO troops in Cambodia. I've not believed a word government says without independently checking the facts since.

It's called plausible deniability Gene; something the politician uses to CHA while lying through his teeth.
Signed & posted.

Many thanks for posting, Dandelion. Petition signed. I've known about this wonderful film since it first came out, but haven't seen it in its entirety yet....will finish this weekend. And, so glad that Phil Donahue is still working hard to bring Truth to the American public.

I agree that we must do more for our veterans. It was the least I can do for Tomas Young to sign the petition. I Googled his name and saw a May video where he and has wife have hospice coming to his home. You can hear he is struggling a lot more now. But he is hanging in there. I get so damn mad that our government is so complacent. These men and women can't wait for a bureaucratic system to work. They didn't make us wait to defend this country. I think we need a petition to withhold congress and the Presiden't pay until our veterans claims are honored. TY Dandelion noted, watched, signed, and tweeted.
