TPP Negotiator for USA Is Monsanto's Former Lobbyist

Environment  (tags: TPP, Monsanto, Corporate Citizens, Chief Agricultural Negotiator for the Un, Trans Pacific Partnership )

- 1877 days ago -
Once upon a time in India there was this very dangerous man named Gandhi, and he said "Truth never damages a cause that is just." Corporate citizens, however, won't allow truth to damage a cause that is just for them. Monsanto will assure it.

That's a depressing little video. We know about the giant empire of destruction aka Monsanto, but what most didn't now was the dealing contrived at the meeting that is called TPP. Oh it's not just frankenseeds, nope it's a big package that some how includes more power over the Internet, not for you and I, but for government control. Is there more, probably but we are not yet privy to the whole deal. When or if that is finally released, people will not be happy, but the governments are not concerned about our happiness, just filling the wallets of those they actually represent. Thanks Dandelion.

Excellent post Sheryl! Thank you so much for keeping us informed regarding this increasingly dangerous and sleazy partnership. I am very troubled by this situation. I have signed with comment below, twittered, fb and google shared. I have bookmarked the longer video and will watch it tomorrow am.

It is way passed time for the needs of the citizens of this world to be put ahead of the wallets of the 1%. We have the right to know what you are proposing in our names, and we are tired of the lies. Our health and well being is tantamount to your greed.

Noted and signed with comment: "The secrecy regarding the TPP is a violation of Americans' right to access information on public issues. This "free trade agreement" is free only for the 1%: it's the rest of us who are expected to pay for it, as has been the case with NAFTA." Thanks, Dandelion.

Signed. Learned something too. I didn't know Monsanto was responsible for DDT which only shows just how long this putrid corporation has been in the business of death-dealing. Terminator seeds. Those scientist must just be so proud. Can you imagine a board meeting, a closed door meeting, at which the highest level of this despicable company discuss these things and plan their campaigns? A little thing like 54,000 suicides doesn't mean a thing to them, but I wonder if they even talk about that, or if anyone in that company somewhere has a small seed of morality that maybe wakes him sometimes in the night wondering about the moral implications of what he does for a living to seeds and to people. Probably not as somewhere I once read that it is very hard to get someone to say anything against something upon which his salary depends. That's how we get junk scientists, climate deniers and planet killers like Monsanto. What sort of landscape might we see if those terminator seeds spread the world wide and can't be stopped, or paid for, we'd look like the face of the moon. Maybe sooner than we think.

I've signed many petitions against GMO production, etc. and I signed this one, too. I appreciate
Gene's comment above... well said. Sometimes it's hard to think we'll make any headway with the immorality that seems to be the basis of our system these days (perhaps always has been), but we must trudge on and try to influence outcomes. Thanks, Dandelion and all of your followers who care.

It's obvious that Monsanto is creating a monopoly. As stated in the video: "the seeds are slightly more expensive-- roughly 8,000 times more expensive-- and second the seeds need a lot more water-- and it needs special fertilizer, sold by Monsanto, and it needs special pesticide sold by the farmers are going deeper and deeper and deeper into debt. But let me tell you the cherry on top-- the seeds they sell are terminator seeds-- they can't be re-used-- so the poor indebted farmer has to buy the seeds and the fertilizer and the pesticides every year!"

What a racket! Monsanto's greed may just top that of every other company in any other industry! And they don't care who they hurt, be it the farmer, the consumer, competing companies, or anyone else. And they're too arrogant to be ashamed or to take a second look at their devious and dangerous business practices!

Noted, and petition signed! I hope they end up getting what they deserve...

Thanks and signed, Dandelion. These "TheNakedEmperor" videos are great.

Another reason to buy organic and especially foods "verified" by the Non GMO Project. The small health food co-op in my town already labels the products that are non-GMO, unlike Whole Foods that for some reason won't do this until 2018.

Thanks for sharing, Sheryl. This happens to be my most intense activist target along with the factory farming. I have signed and preached. I promote a vegan, organic, non-gmo approach. I see that Bryan above has mentioned the Non GMO Project and products that are now labeling non-gmo. I have signed and signed petitions and preached. I do not believe that Monsanto, GE, Big Pharma, etc. etc. etc. will ever be affected by our efforts (although I will continue to protest) because it is my impression that when all is said and done, our government is dominated by all things corporate.

Thanks Bryan, 2018 is too long away, damage is being done.

Thank you Deborah for all your diligence in that area. I feel that all our actions are adding up and not for naught.

I have seen the Will of the people before, and if the Will of The People gets strong enough we can turn this all around. But we must continue, each of us, no matter how slow things seem to be going, for there is always the tipping point. That one more grain of sand can force something to move in another direction and we don't know when that one more voice or action that tips that scale. Remember we can be the Samson's to all of the Goliath's. We must believe, we must keep being the point of the spear.

Monsanto will fall, but, will I live long enough to see it?

Sheryl G (360)
Saturday August 31, 2013, 7:04 am
The first inhabitants, the American Indian, of this continent use to guide their actions by how will what they do today affect those who will live in the 7th generation. That is called selflessness to think of others yet unborn and how we live today will impact those of tomorrow and many tomorrow's into the future.

I hope they look back and remember how we did fight to removed the Monsanto's and didn't quietly accept it and kick the ball further in tomorrow. We are living in a time when what we do or fail to do will have dire and perhaps irreversible consequences. Whether I'm alive to see it or not I do not know but what I do know that what I do or fail to do today will impact on their tomorrows.

I like that strong positive statement, Charlene, that you place out into the Universe "Monsanto will fail."

Yes, Gene, that's who Monsanto is and was. And our government, historically did nothing, after banning DDT use here, to stop them from taking it overseas. I'm SURE that that is not the only time this Plutocratic system has done that kind of thing. "Hey, you want to make money, even if it kills people, well fine, maybe just not here, this time."
