I hope for those who can, will listen to the video. We forget how important we can be at the local and State level. If you didn't think you could do anything to get the ears of DC....then get the ears of your State Legislators. Listen to how a few have done so thus far.

Signed. A little humor for a very serious problem. When I saw the name, I "naturally" assumed it had something to do with Wolves. Sorry that's the first thing I think of. Those who know me understand. Thanks Dandelion

Thanks, Sheryl.
An amendment is needed, as neither party is troubled by the direction in which things are moving.
Ironically, the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights bill of 1964, is being "celebrated," by G.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, who each did his part in stripping away the very resources, as did Johnson, himself, that would have given it some lasting power to help those who have needed them the most
Today, I believe, congress is voting on YET ANOTHER bill to cut social programs in order to find funding for a "balanced budget."
Many billions of dollars have been lost to social programming, over the last 50 years, so that we can maintain a war economy, benefiting no one but the 1%!!
I put "balanced budget" in quotes, as that is Paul Ryan's BS rationalization, for cuts.
If you read nothing but the last couple of chapters of Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States," you will see what i am referring to.
Johnson's "Great Society" lost out, miserably, to his bogus war in Vietnam. In the elder Bush presidency, the first Gulf War "saved" the administration from having to provide a "Peace Dividend" after the cold war was over.

For those who watched the video, one man that has gotten his Representative to sign onto this was first thought to be an Environmentalist. However the Representative, once finding that wasn't why they were there was still most delighted to sign on and support this. Kind of nice to know the Representative was going to see him for the wolves first so I'd say a favorable person on both accounts. As he said, one person CAN make a big difference.

Thank you Dandelion. The petition was down time and time again and I was unable to sign. I did watch the video with enthusiasm and taking notes! I wrote my feelings as I have quite alot to say about this disgrace but the post didn't take:( I then wrote a little post and just realized that didn't take either. I will just say a few thoughts since I'm burnt out, but will be back in the morn. I finally was able to sign!!! Thank you for including the petition.
thank you for signing
I will definitely share my piece of mind in the morning as I'm too tired to re-post. I will say I have always felt those in power were bought and sold and too many were puppets as a result. I felt the country has been bought since I remember but the momentum it has reached is terrifying. I 'felt' this was proof enough for me when the Supreme Court (5) passed Citizens United. This current ruling leaves no doubt in my mind.
BUT... It never occurred to me there was any way we could "reclaim" our democracy (how sad to say reclaim) after Citizens United but this latest bill gave me no hope whatsoever. I am shocked to hear we have a sliver of hope- through the local and state. It never occurred to me but I am not as educated as I wish I were. Not having to get to the Congress floor, much less get the votes, is a bright shining star to reach for. I hope I am making a wee bit of sense as I am exhausted supporting this thread for hours. I hope this goes through this time as I want you to know how appreciative I am to learn there is a solution that is possible to achieve if we stand in solidarity. IT IS TIME TO RIDE!

I'm grateful for all the signatures. I also hope that people are looking over this website and watching video to learn how they or perhaps someone they know could help by going the next step beyond. Petitions are good but we all must start taking additional steps.

Thanks Dandelion its becoming more clearer each day that the U.S.of A. will only heal & grow when it remembers its the people that made America Great & must be listened to, as its leaders are way short of the mark.

Do the Teapublicans, honestly believe, that they can convince the nation that they are for equality, in all areas, yet, not vote for the same?

What is wrong with these lunatics?

Petition signed too impoverished to donate, may be able, may not to volunteer -
Princeton U published a study that declared the uSA a functioning OLIGARCHY - NOT responsive to the wishes of voters - Their study was based on figures/stats ending in 2008
The question is - CAN we still effect a return to a democracy(republic) ? Must be WAY past time to get a wiggle on - - - -

You are welcome Jeanne and thank you for joining in with other Americans to do our best to bring our Republic back. Indeed, studies have confirmed this sad fact, and Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig has also gone on record on this fact as well. Not only that he is doing everything he can to alert and educate people to this fact. It is imperative that we all add our voices and efforts to this no matter how humble our efforts are, by joining as 1 voice we can do a lot together.

Indeed, we are all in similar boats as they say, some a bit worse than others, but this is worldwide for sure what is taking place with the corruption.
