Ecuador Family Wins Favors After Donations to Obama Campaign

World  (tags: Bank fraud, Equador, Obama Administration, , political favors, Hilary Clinton )

Accused of running their bank into the ground and then presenting false balance sheets to profit from bailout funds. In a highly politicized case, Ecuador says the fraud cost the country $400 million. And this is the family our Country has helped out.

And yet Julian Assange is kept holed up in the Embassy, we have Chelsea (Bradley Manning) behind bars, and how about Leonard Peltier and Albert Woodfox to rot behind bars, our own people, who have had court ruling to say evidence wasn't there, tainted, and officials lied and was most like a case to "get them" at all cost due to their race, heritage and belief system ie. political prisoners.

All I can keep shining the light where-ever the dirt lies. Maybe one day the People of this Country will get good and sick and tired of being shafted every which BOTH Parties......and the Oligarchy behind the Government.

Thanks to Debbie S for bringing it to my attention and have placed it on here for her. More things the people of the USA needs to learn about. USA helps those with money no matter what they do wrong but those without money no matter how innocent they may be rot behind bars. They are forgotten.

Bill Clinton couldn't even give Peltier when he left a Presidential Pardon, but Clinton gave a Pardon to a former director of the CIA, John Deutch, accused of mishandling secret information; former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, whose overturned conviction on charges of bank and wire fraud was being challenged by prosecutors; and Marc Rich, a fugitive billionaire indicted on tax evasion, whose ex-wife was a major contributor to Hillary Clinton's senatorial campaign.

Getting the connection here people?

Thank you for getting this story out. It is high time people realize all the deceit that goes on in our country. It is time complacent people get angry and stand up for something, this is outrageous. Scoundrels getting rewards and special treatment while many here rot in jail unfairly and what about Edward Snowden? A hero that stood up for the American people and what was right yet he is unfairly treated by our government for exposing them. There is so much that is going on that is not acceptable, this is not what a free country should be like.

Glad you brought up Snowden. Those that are trying to truly protect us or make things better are getting the shaft.

Thank you Dandelion.
What to say? Seems to have been going on since I can remember.
Sad and maddening!

Simply sickening. This story, in a nutshell, is the problem with our political system today. It can be bought or sold to the highest bidder, and until we change the election process so that's not the case, we'll continue to be taken to the cleaners over and over!

Noted. Thanks, Dandelion. Money talks. Money can stop talking if we can get publicly financed campaigns. And, I agree that all those whistleblowers should be commended, not sentenced to prison; or in Assange's and Snowden's cases---imprisoned or confined privately. A real travesty!

Just goes to show, all you have to do (if you're rich enough) is buy off the right people & you can get away with anything.

They know "back doors", common poeple don't know ; e.g. you have to pay a high tax rate if you benefit from an inheritance (as an individual). But as a charity (non profit) organization, you must only pay a small % tax (!) some people get inventive...need I say more ? There are so many "constractions" - I'm sick of it !
Thanks for posting.

Completely disgusting behavior by Obama. The rich are always welcome here in America; the poor have to enter illegally. Unless you are Cuban, then you are legal as soon as you set foot on American sand. I see no difference between the Democratic and Republican parties these days. I was furious receiving emails from DNCC telling me I should donate to Mary Landieu's campaign when she is in favor of the Keystone XL pipeline. Disgusting. I wish some real candidates would show up. And, we need term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court. When the founding fathers created the Constitution, people weren't living into their 80s and 90s like today. Other than revolution, I don't see how the American people can change Washington D.C.

Janet R. I couldn't agree more. It isn't just Obama or the Republican Party, this crap has entered every pore of our Republic and we have lost our Democracy due to it. Short of a revolution there are things that must be done because revolutions don't always go the way one wants them too. But the people have to join together to get done a lot of things and back those who are trying to move us in a better direction.

I find most people are still in la la land and haven't a clue. Oh they "feel" something is wrong, their lives are impacted, but beyond that they are clueless to how we got here or who is behind what, so they don't do anything to help and when they vote, many times vote against their own best interest.

People need to get beyond Party loyalty, as you mention, Mary Landieu.....yet I suppose many still supported her simply because she was a Democrat. What should of happened is a 3rd Party member should of ran or if they were running and were against the pipeline, vote for them. When Parties do stupid crap or things that will not be in our best interest, look into 3rd Parties. If enough people started doing that it would change things a lot quicker, either the other two Parties would smarten up, or go into history, or we'd get a better Party emerging.
Why keep voting for the better of two evils when we could start having the better of two good choices. Media is complacent in this as well, for they never give the air time to the 3rd Parties, therefore few people even know of them let alone what they stand for.

Thanks Sheryl for putting it up here.

There should never be a double standard in prosecutions for breaking the law for we the people versus wall street, banks, corporations, politicians, police and the wealthy. But there is and we the people lose, over and over. As Elizabeth Warren said: the system is rigged... against the American people. Only we the people can bring the change we really need.

This is why I despise politics and politicians, because they are nothing more than liars, cheats, murderers and thieves, running and ruining this country. It's nothing new, the rich started when they paid criminals to murder and steal from the natives who already lived here. The natives didn't believe the land belonged to them, they believed they belonged to the land. Sorry i could go on and on but i am very sick, and this probably isn't the time or place. I love you guys & gals, thanks for letting me vent (rant?). Happy New Year (I hope)

This is the time and place not to worry and you are absolutely correct.

But is also the failure of the populace to be more pro-active governing themselves and do more than watching those they elected; it requires mass numbers of people taking some time out of their life to hold their feet to the fire. Call them, write them, petition them, so on and so forth. I think we as a citizens think that we've elected so now our job is done. It should be for the most part, they should be doing what they say they'll do, but then they get into that hive and it isn't even what they thought. Who voted on this ruling to allow something to be placed in at the last second? Why don't they rid this from happening?

How many go to Town Hall meetings? Go to see their Representatives when they are back home and out of Washington. Mine is holding an open forum on the 3rd of January I'll make sure I'm there. I think the internet is allowing more people to learn quicker what is truly going on in many Governments around the world. It is in the shadows these things get to play out and is why it is important that everything stays in the light of day. If one is believing that what they want is so good for people why must it be added on last second or pushed through on New Years Eve like the NDAA was?

I hope you feel better soon.
