This bill would end the mass surveillance of U.S. citizens under the PATRIOT Act and the FISA Amendments Act, restoring instead the use of the Fourth Amendment's requirement of a warrant for any search.

Thx, have signed earlier from email but, be sure they'll NEVER do that! What's worse, intense lobbying has begun to force some similar laws upon many of our Eurpean countries the impact of which can already be observed!

All messages sent. Noted. Many thanks, Dandelion. This was passed "in haste," and should've never been signed into law. It should have been repealed when Obama began his first term as President. It has been a deep thorn in the side of democracy far too long.

Canada has the bill C-51 anti terrorism currently being debated. Elements of the bill provide broader scope of police and CSIS powers which are being challenged by the NDP and forcing the Conservatives to make some changes Bill C-51: Tories To Bring In Amendments To Curb, Clarify Powers. Also, Firefox (Modzilla) has entered the fray around Bill C-51 Bill C-51 A Threat To Safety Of Internet Users, Firefox Maker Mozilla Says.

It seems to me that wherever there is a very conservative, fascist government, there is legislation broadening police and security powers. All seem to couch this legislation in fear . . . control the people using fear.

Wish it were for the full Patriot Act, but for the mass surveillance part. There are petitions, agencies, people who are pushing to repeal the full Patriot Act, but then we have things like this that is trying to at least chip away at it to push it back a bit.

Sorry to read about that Angelika and Lynn. That is very true, Lynn, conservative fascist governments push fear.

Our Founding Fathers warned us about that as did Albert Einstein, 'Three great forces rule the world: stupidity, fear and greed.''

Seems we have an abundance of all three. But Jefferson had an antidote.

β€œEnlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of the body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day.”
― Thomas Jefferson

The so called Patriot Act has nothing to do with patriotism, just as Fascists have nothing to do with Republicans. Fascism: A political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts a nation and often race ABOVE the INDIVIDUAL and that stands for a CENTRALIZED, autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition. No one has fought harder and used any legal or illegal, unconstitutional, deceitful, manipulative behind the scenes power grab to make America a one party state than president Obama. Here's something else Thomas Jefferson said, "He who governs lest, governs best."

Well Maggie why didn't you place George Bush in there. After all he was the one who instituted the Patriot Act. I agree President Obama should of let that expire and he didn't but signed it back in. Why are we only pointing out the errors of one Party when it's been BOTH Parties who have done the same dance together.

And Fascism does have to do with the Republican Party as they are now pushing the hardest to undermine the Government which IS.......We The People.......in order to have a complete Corporatocracy. I will agree we don't have a very good Government right now, we have idiots within BOTH Parties and we have those who have sold the American People out in BOTH Parties. Fascism is when the Corporatist and the State merge in as one.

Came right of out Benito Mussolini's mouth, and he should know. ""Fascism should more properly be called Corporatism because it is the merger of State and Corporate power."

This divide and conquer rhetoric you keep spewing on the threads is feeding right into the Corporatocracy. The Plutocrats just love people like you. I bet you do this for free, drink the kool aid and then spew it out on the threads. You work CHEAPLY for them.

Now how about start standing up for ALL the American people, not just the 1% and start to open your eyes to what is really taking place. It isn't just Obama, my goodness, he is only one of many players. But I suppose he makes a good scapegoat for many who fail to educate themselves on what is truly going on and for their share of not taking responsibility for what mess we are in by continuing to vote in the same people that got us into a mess and continue to keep us in it.

The Patriot Act has been slowly but surely taken away our civil rights in America since 911. America has stuck their head in the sand for far too long. I paraphrase Pres Jefferson said we get the government we deserve. If the people are complacent we will continue to lose our freedoms. Noted TY

"Spam" Ads like the one above on March 28th that promise you a great deal of money "working from home" - they are definitely NOT the old "envelope stuffing" scam, but something much more sinister.

ALL such ads, are in fact Criminal Solicitations to commit the Federal Crime of Money Laundering; laundering money stolen by CyberCriminals who are based in Eastern European countries. You DO in fact make such large sums of money - a PERCENTAGE of the stolen money as your reward for participating in a CRIMINAL ACT. You don't get to keep the money long - as the Feds can EASILY trace you thru your Home Computer. The real Cybercriminals are offshore and will never get caught. You could do time in a Federal Prison and the Feds can freeze all your assets.

These ads are appearing in many venues besides C2. There are people desperate enuf to respond to them, in the present state of the Economy. Please WARN anyone you can and send the message out over the Internet.
These facts are well-researched and verifiable. Sources include the website krebsonsecurity.com and two U.S. Prosecuting Attorneys.

"Rehana W." is of course NOT A REAL PERSON, but a Computer Program that goes off automatically at certain times, generally on weekends, BREAKING THRU all of C2's defenses with High-Tech equipment. This Program then appears SIMULTANEOUSLY on several C2 News threads at once...
