Conservative Radio Host Defends Slavery

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: Jan Mickelson, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Right Wing, Scott Walker, Radio Host, racist, Statue of Liberty, slavery )

Jan Mickelson announced that he had plan to drive undocumented immigrants out of Iowa that involved making those who do not leave property of the state who are forced into compelled labor like building a wall on the US-Mexican border. Must be Trumps plan

Minimal housing, minimal food!!!
Ya what's next, pro- holocaust!!!!

Have these pr*cks forgotten this;

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

i'm utterly disgusted Dande!!!

Shared everywhere to spread awareness.

Perhaps those in favor of slavery ought to have a taste of it, to experience its dehumanizing effect. . .

Thanks Dandelion.

Have he forgot about why we have the USA has it is today, the number of people that die fighting to stop slavery in the USA. A free country where you you have the freedom to talk like this.
You have to worry when Conservatives start talking like this, I feel that soon he will say that other freedom have to go too!

Sat down in an easy chair, with a microphone, and not threatened in any way, it's easy for an "armchair intellect" with arrogance and ego to come out with all kinds of masturbatory bullsh$t.

My son is off from work tomorrow. My three dogs my son and I are going to forget these idiots tomorrow. Stay off the internet completely. It is screwing with my health and well being listening to these a@@holes who are doomed to repeat history and throw away their souls. I hope for a better Monday. A better year, more conscience from people who have access to the airwaves. I don't like myself when I am hateful, I don't like myself when I wish evil to people, so I'll see you Monday.

Noted. Thanks, Dandelion.
I have never heard of this Jan Mickelson person. I don't know how long he's had his show or what kind of "clout" he has within the fringes. I can only hope that his audience is small and will continue to shrink until his show vanishes from the airwaves.
But, the vileness that he spews must be attractive to some, unfortunately. And, the IA caucuses will be coming up soon. Apparently, some of the GOP candidates are desperate for attention, so they go on his show, (which will hopefully get them labeled as 'haters.') All I can hope for is that the pushback will be loud and significant.

"PROPERTY of the State of Iowa, or the U.S.?!? This guy sounds really dangerous. It's hard to believe that he would keep a job at any radio station. Thanks Dandelion.

Conservative talk radio is very much a curious phenomenon with much of the ideas seems to be coming from the furrowed brows of people who make chimps seem positively enlightened. The Republicans invoke slavery for all sorts of things that don’t come anywhere close to matching the evil it represented. Yet when it suits them they think it is actually a good idea, Well, if the Islamic state can use slavery why not America? Is now a question they ask which demonstrates how far they have gone off rational debate, but also basic human decency, but then they were using this discussion in 2012 and with Donald Trump it will only get worse as he does not want to be politically correct - he is just wrong.

If they are in US illegally, they should work to pay for their ticket back home. Clearly, this guys is using stupid words, but we in US have mechanisms of admitting immigrants who want to live and contribute to USA. I am am immigrant and waited for a visa for over the year and also had to pass an english exam while living outside US.

The guy is obviously stupid jerk who does not understand US Constitution, for using wrong words, but the idea for illegal immigrants for paying their ticket back is not such a bad idea.. We had made illegal immigration too attractive for many overpopulated Latin American and Muslim occupied countries who are sending to US, Euroep and Australia their surplus population.

there is nothing "conservative" about this stupid guy who clearly did not read US Constitution which had abolished slavery long time ago. one should also remember that it was Abraham Lincoln republican party that had liberated slaves in 1863, while Democratic Party of the South was the KKK party who was lynching blacks.

It is amazing how Democraci party had morphed from slavery party to "freedom party",m while projecting their nasty slavery past onto "conservative" republicans.

Never heard of Jan Mikelson, sounds like he has been mentored by Donald Trump, who can't decide whether he wants to be a Democrat or a Republican. Not a bad idea to make all illegals pay for their one way ticket back home, though. Never heard of this jackass reporter either, but he seems an equally idiotic piece of work.

Mikelson is a true reflection of the right wing members of the Party of Red, to include many of the republican candidates for pres. Now, how many supporters does he have - probably thousands. Hey, this is America and these folks have a right to say what they want. BUT, we the people have the burden and responsibility of sorting through all the verbosity for truth and acting accordingly. Let us hope the majority of citizens who vote do not sanction one breath of this idiot's beliefs.

UNFRICKING believable!
"...minimal housing, minimal food," is right out of Auschwitz, where the inmates were, indeed, a compelled work force!
Go read "Man's Search for Meaning," by psychiatrist, and Holocaust survivor, Victor E. Frankl, for a personal view of life as a "compelled" worker.
No less a personage than Scott Walker goes on his show after this blather? That makes Walker less a person than he has ever shown himself to be, previously...and that ain't easy!

Shock jocks make outlandish statements like this fellow to draw attention to themselves and create a radio persona .They''re nutters so why feed their little egos by taking issues at their ramblings. Change stations

Perfect VP for Donald Trump if he wins................

Be careful when you vote.

Sheryl G (359)

Obviously Carly Fiorina wouldn't have an issue with him either Arild as she was on his show. I know Ted Cruz is very much like Trump, riding his coat-tails. You better believe he is watching and learning what he can say or not say by listening to Trump. These long time politicians try to pick their words, using code words, or wiggle it around - Trump felt he had nothing to lose in this situation; if he didn't win he just goes back to doing what he always had done.

Well I an others would not of even turned on the channel to this man's ranting Walter and up until the past few years, I'd say the same thing you did. Unfortunately, it is the rantings of this man that is heard and then is spread to others, until it becomes embedded into the minds of too many on the Right. Other shock jocks will pick up on this, they'll repeat it to even larger audiences and off it goes.

There was always these lunatics spouting off, but mostly people of either Party, pretty much ignored them as way out in the fringes. However, the fringes now has viable Candidates in various political positions in DC and now running for President. Most people did ignore them, and they never went away, in fact their ideas caught on and were fanned by the Corporate media, by hate groups, and so it appears more as a mainstream thought. Even the far right Christian Evangelicals have more political pull then they ever use to have.

So I'm glad that Cenk Uygur called him out on this and more need to do the same, hence why I posted this. I want people to know what is being said on the public airways, I want people to know that when Donald Trump is speaking about the Mexicans are going to pay for the wall, this is most likely what he is thinking.

When the Right states they want to take the Country back.......I think of better wages......the ultra rich paying higher taxes.......the Right thinks of going back to slavery and women with no rights at all and gays go back in the closet.

Slavery has no defense, anywhere, anytime. It's inhuman, unethical, immoral, criminal, conscienceless.
