World on Track to Lose Two Thirds of Wild Animals By 2020

The richness and diversity of life on Earth is fundamental to the complex life systems that underpin it. Life supports life itself and we are part of the same equation. Lose biodiversity and the natural world and the life support systems will collapse.

So sad...and the US has two major party candidates that couldn't care less about this and are unwilling to consider this impact in any of their decisions; thanks Dandelion

Shared all over social media, Dandelion.

Yes, and agree with JL A., the two main aggressive combatants don't give a sh$t about this. Only Dr. Jill Stein and her party would ensure that this major issue is addressed.

This devastating and well-known fact for me has plagued me and depressed me so much that I can only describe it as emotional torture. I hate the majority of the human race and I wish they could be spayed and neutered. Don't care who I offend-too many friggin, self-serving, destructive, parasitic breeding humans! The myth that humans are somehow supreme is a sickening myth. I have more regard for the life of a germ than I do most human beings.

Deplorable - and the cry out will be big if the people will notice, that they lost a great treasure and the environmental impact on biodiversity will be also terrible...
There should be a law to limit humans reproduction - because they are the only living being which destroy their own livelihood and environment.
Thanks Dandelion

Oh, my soul aches for the children. It worries me that so many damn people don't give a sh#t that this is happening around them.
What a heartache.

2020 is just around the corner as we are at the end of 2016 so I'm not sure what will happen to stop it. Certainly there doesn't appear to be the urgency by most people to do so even if they are aware and there are far too many people that are not even aware of what is taking place.

Yes, I agree with this election, 4 more years that brings us to 2021 - all over folks.

Our species is the biggest mistake to inhabit earth ever. Our footprint is so ugly. We will single handedly wipe out all wildlife one way or another. Still i see no effort to legislate a 1 child policy. This world isn't meant to support 7 plus billion period. Imagine how nasty it'll be when that 7 billions turns into 14 plus. Nauseating thought. thx Dandelion

Very depressing, I read and shared the WWF Living Planet Report and other articles yesterday; there is nothing to do as long as we don't stop producing humans! Animals and nature need space damn it!

It's unfortunate and sickening that the powers-to-be don't give a flying rats ass about the environment and endangered species. I love all animals (with 3 exceptions) and I don't want to see any of them go extinct. I'm especially fond of the family Felidae, and it breaks my heart that so many cats are on the endangered list. Trophy/sport poaching must be stopped, stricted regulations must be put into place AND enforced, and the powers-to-be MUST see what is going on with the environment and the endangered species. Personally, I hope to read one of these days that those TRumpfft boys will be out on one of their trophy poaching trips and will find themselves in th middle of a very angry and hungry pride of lions, and them without their high powered rifles. However, I wouldn't want the lions to get food poisoning, so an angry, hungry, and very agressive group of baboons or chimpanzees would work as well. Not to mention, baboons and chimpanzees eat their prey when it is still alive!

What a crappy world we have made and it is such a beautiful planet. IT's too bad too many people think they are the only ones who should enjoy it. I am tired of people or at least most of the population. If only we would become extinct. I would be glad to be gone so the planet an animals could live. Such reed an self centeredness are ugly traits .Look up the toddler code of what is theirs and it applies to much of the human species.

“We are no longer a small world on a big planet. We are now a big world on a small planet, where we have reached a saturation point,” said Prof Johan Rockström, executive director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre, in a foreword for the report."

"Marco Lambertini, director general of WWF, said: “The richness and diversity of life on Earth is fundamental to the complex life systems that underpin it. Life supports life itself and we are part of the same equation. Lose biodiversity and the natural world and the life support systems, as we know them today, will collapse.”
