He railed against every proposed piece of gun control legislation that followed the 2013 Newton shootings, ironically writing “But the absolute worst part of the bill is that it would require all gun buyers to take a firearm safety course.”

Is this one of those live by the sword die by the sword.......

I do not wish anyone to die but in this case it seems like karma,,,

To all the Kamma experts, it would be the fruition of his Kamma if he had taken a life.

That poor child will be traumatized for life!

Thanx Dande

Not the kids fault, Harmon took responsibility when he loaded the weapon and then let a child handle it.

Poetic justice. . . life's tough.

Perhaps one of your most barking mad Constitutions. . . you have the right to hold and use a killing weapon.

No more gun-related tragedies

Responsible gun owners want mandatory gun safety training. Poetic justice would have been for him to have lived to regret his opposition to gun safety. I feel for his family, but mostly for the teen that will have to live with this all his life.

I certainly wouldn't wish for this man to die, but his death illustrates why mandatory gun safety classes are needed. I bet he wishes he'd supported those classes now! And I feel great sympathy for the poor teen who shot the man.

His death and that of countless others, demonstrates the utter redundancy of the need for people to carry weapons.

I hope at least some people will learn a lesson from this. This man was foolish, so a tragedy resulted. I feel less safe if a gun is around.

I hope that the kid will never want to hold another gun in his life -
And that Harmon's entourage will be less enthusiastic about endorsing his messages.

Like all here, I wouldn't have wished for his death (although I admit to feeling a little like Peggy - it would have been even more poetically just had he received a serious injury, permanently handicapping him .... Maybe next time round he'll be rapidly anti-guns ... or find himself in the body of a creature often hunted!)

However hard I try, I just CAN'T understand why people in the US have such a drive to own (& inevitably, use) guns.

I can't either Evelyn and I live here and like Judy feel less safe if a gun is around.

A moron with a pen (Lawyer, Solicitor, Politician, Judge, unCivil Servant) is just as if not more lethal than anyone with a gun, because you can vote in War mongering at the stroke of a pen. . . REMOVE GUNS from humankind.
