How Many Times Does Our Government Have To Lie To Us Before We Stop Believing Them?

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: lies, government, nuclear power, conflict, Russia, USA, flimsy evidence )

Today we face a potential conflict with a nuclear power of far greater consequence on still more flimsy evidence than ever before. All of which leaves us to ask ourselves, Are we sure we want to go there, again?

Thing is, as in sport (sportmen's infidelities), as in business (if I could do it and get away with it, I would. . . ), there are few people of integrity and morals, whose characters are examples of what to look up to, strive to be.

Shared over social media to raise and spread awareness.

One of the more recent lies most here have not discovered is untrue: "As if that lesson wasn’t obvious enough, we then heard the 2013 tale of a sarin gas attack in Syria which was quickly blamed on Assad to justify invading the country. The real reason was to deliver on a Saudi-backed Qatar pipeline to which Assad said ‘No’ in deference to his strongest ally, Russia. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Seymour Hersh, discovered this was yet another lie, which was doggedly suppressed by the administration and press. After several years of fighting without success due to Putin’s assistance to Assad, the U.S. military decided it must go head-to-head with Russia by proposing a Syrian ‘no-fly zone.’ Unfortunately for Obama, the public got wise to that particular scam and pushed back on the administration."
And something of greater concern since they are a rogue agency:
"The CIA has long history of fabricating news to manipulate the public & manufacture consent for global warfare and actually has a script it follows for doing so, killing an estimated six million over the years. We now know the agency is intricately tied in with the major networks such as CNN, and prominent newspapers including the Washington Post and New York Times, to which they feed propaganda that is then reported as ‘fact.’ Former CIA Director William Colby was quoted as saying ‘The CIA owns everyone of any significance in the major media.’ More recently, former editor of one of Germany’s largest newspapers, Udo Ulfkotte, reveals in his bestseller ‘Bought Journalists,’ that he and fellow journalists regularly published articles under their own names written by agents of the CIA and other intelligence agencies."

Thanks Dandelion for showing us how we have not actually had a free and independent press as the founding fathers intended for a long time...

it would be great, if lies would have the same impact on our politicians as on pinocchio - for we would be able to see their dishonesty and immorality...

I pretty much can go along with the first part of your comment Brent, but the part of Mr Trump making America great again, I suppose it's to be seen.

Thus far with Cabinet picks, his shutting the Interior Dept. twitter account off, he just raised taxes on the middle class via the tax break the people were getting on certain home loans that were held by that same middle class, his support of removing health insurance from the ACA, which I didn't like either, but with not a program to replace it with costs for Elders Medicare will go up along with everyone's medications, and millions will be left with nothing at all for health care. Can't see how any of it, so far, will Make America Great.

How many times does the gub-mint have to lie before we stop listening to that crap, and rise up and take action?

As the old joke goes, how did I know Trump was lying? He opened his mouth.

Thanks Dandelion, I tried to oomment previously on this subject when another person put out the Trump as Putin's Puppet article and they did not believe me that it was being blown up into a frenzy deliberately to justify war with Russia they said I loved Putin. I tired to point out that the Intelligence agenicies cannot be believed and Trump was right to question them.

I'm glad to see not everyone is falling for it Jolene, hang in there. I'm not a big Trump fan but even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Making America Great Again, is fine, so long as it's not AT THE EXPENSE of other nations.

That quote from Churchill is quite amusing, Arild. Great War leader, lousy Prime Minister.
