A Republican Just Gave A Disgusting Response To Jimmy Kimmels Sons Heart Disease

Only in the USA does it seem acceptable to be that callous to say. On top of it Joe Walsh does not seem it is also his responsibility to pay child support for his own children. Just what does he feel responsible for beyond his self interest?

He's a republican. No surprise here.

Easy for him to say. He probably has his health insurance paid for by our tax money for life. All government officials should have to have the same insurance, the same holiday/personal days as the average American. Why should these people work (and many do it badly) for a 4-6 year term and then have all these perks for life?

Thanks Dandelion--a great example of how the GOP seeks headlines and press attention by competing to show how uncaring, their lack of compassion and understanding of their district/state's needs, and avoidance of anything sounding like morals or ethics.

I'm glad they are finally showing their true colors JL A. For too long they coded their words and beat around the bush, only those who were paying close attention to politics understood what they were saying. The slight of hand tricks that were glossed over in sounding nice but meant a very different thing on paper. So being as clear as they are now, let the American people HEAR that.

I like this:
"“Joe, you won’t even pay child support for your OWN kids. We already knew you felt this way, you worm. No need to tell us — we’re good,” tweeted comedian Patton Oswalt."

I have great difficult in understanding the mindset of people who cannot see that EVERYONE stands to gain when there is equitable access to core health care - the corporations, employers as well of the employees. Ill health & lack of access to health care contributes to a sick society.

Indeed and we sure are a sick society Evelyn.

I keep wondering how many less mass shootings we might have had if not only with a restriction to guns but if people were receiving the mental health care they need. Or able to have the medication they need to be on.

When people go out to eat, do they really want someone serving them that has something contagious but the person can't get it treated due to lack of medical care, or may not even be aware it's contagious.

How many children have been orphaned because their parent died due to an untreated medical problem. I know one woman right her in Florida died from a heart attack at age 32 leaving her two young children without a Mother. She was a single parent working 3 jobs but still had no health care, her pay so low she couldn't afford it, and all jobs were part time so didn't provide it.

I did a little research on Walsh, and - surprise, surprise! - he's against abortion. Whining about (supposedly) paying for an operation to save a tiny baby shows just what an absolute hypocrite he is. Of course, if one of Walsh's children, or grandchildren, had the same condition, he'd be howling for health coverage!

Good evening and thank you for this article - which i read and noted- I love all the comments also FREYA -yes he would demand coverage as long as it did not cost him or his party a dam thing- if he will not pay for the upkeep of his children or give his wife money to feed them- I AM NOT SURE HE WOULD CARE ABOUT A GRAND KID- DANDELION -the story of the young mother dying is heart breaking - but the repugs do not care as long as the rich donors-cabinet and congress members- get their tax breaks at the expense of human lives of the poor- the woman- the elderly- etc- this bill we allow state to not cover maternity- emergency rooms- ambulances- prescriptions- c section will be classified as pre- existing condition- so your next pregnancy will not be covered- you will pay extra for asthma -diabetes and cancer coverage - if you can get it- you will have a cap on what you can spend in your life time- so if your baby has a heart problem or cancer - you could go broke before they are 10 to 13 years old if they make it due to the lack of hospitals- due to not enough funds being given to hospitals to help the poor uninsured american citizens ---everyone will show up in the emergency rooms- PLEASE PLEASE REMEMBER THIS WHEN YOU GO VOTE- PLEASE STAND UP NOW- SPEAK OUT- NEVER GIVE UP- NEVER GIVE IN- ATTEND TOWN HALLS- MAKE PHONE CALLS TO SENATORS AND CONGRESSIONAL REPS - WRITE LETTERS- SIGN PETITIONS- MARCH- PROTEST- DEMONSTRATE- all with non violent means- if these reps will not work with us and for us- fire them and elect new one that will- sincerely KAY M.

Noted. I have said it before, and I daresay I'll say it again - No country, including America, can EVER call itself great unless it looks after the vulnerable members of its society - and they don't come much more vulnerable than a newborn baby.

Thee guys don't seem to understand how insurance works. Anyone who is insured and doesn't get sick is paying for someone else's illness. You pay insurance but you hope you don't need it. It's like taxes - we all pay so the community can benefit from various services.
Childless couples pay tax that goes into schools, healthy people pay for cancer treatment, etc, etc. It's the fairest way - when it works.

He is a heartless as*hole.. What makes it even worse is that these clowns who have or had worked in these Federal positions, don't have to worry about the crappy insurance we get, cause they get their own type health coverage for life. Thanks Evelyn

This is typical behaviour from a man who has the best healthcare service paid by the taxpayers. if anything it shows that how deep many Republicans are in the health insurance industry's pockets.

A couple of people here have suggested Walsh's health insurance is paid by the tax payer -

The man is an incomprehensible git ... but I feel I have to point out a paragraph:
"Walsh rejected the congressional health insurance plan for his own family, although his wife Helene had a pre-existing condition and needed surgery while the couple was uninsured."

So he's not even taking advantage of that - why? He has some other coverage about which we know nothing ???

As he is financially well to do I'd say he most likely buys his own policy, which he can do. That at least I'll give him credit for, but not everyone has the same income. He should be grateful he can but not condemn others who can not. It did leave it a bit unclear Evelyn.

I totally agree, Dandelion!
Just wanted to be fair (not taking full advantage of his right to tax-payer paid health coverage). As you say, he can certainly afford to pay medical fees &/or "excellent" private health insurance ...

So - maybe he's consistent with his "principles" - but certainly NOT very human! Those who elected him must be a nest of "greedy ones" who don't care much about others ...
