evidence shows the mortality rate for these children was significantly higher than the national rate of infant mortality at the time. And we are shocked at reliable, contemporaneous accounts that the children were malnourished and uncared-for PETITION

The Catholic Church, which has also recently had to deal with backlash from the child sex scandal, has responded to the discovery claiming it is not a discovery at all, according toWW News. The church claims the mass grave was only a temporary burial site.

“There’s a lot of speculation as to what went on in The Home following these recent revelations,” Monsignor Sean Green, spokesperson for the Irish branch of the Catholic Church “Scandal Containment Unit,” explained.

“People seem to believe that because these children were born to unmarried mothers the church at the time considered them sinful and unworthy of a decent Catholic burial, so basically threw their little remains into the nearest hole they could find. But trust me, that wasn’t the case; I assure you, those bodies are just resting in that mass grave. Cover up the mistreatment of children? Not at all. We’ve always planned to exhume them and bury them properly, and we’re going to get right on it really soon.”

Oh, SU-U-UUUUUUURE!

During the era when the home was in operation, the Catholic Church ran most of Ireland’s social service programs.

Sgt. Brian Whelan, of Ireland’s national police, told CNN that
police are not investigating the 800 bodies found in a mass grave outside the Catholic women’s home, but he did say that the bodies were not found in a septic tank, but in a mass graveyard on the grounds. POLICE ARE *NOT* INVESTIGATING!

Still, according to The Telegraph, Children’s Minister Charlie Flanagan said on Wednesday in a statement, “Many of the revelations are deeply disturbing and a shocking reminder of a darker past in Ireland when our children were not cherished as they should have been.”

Members of Parliament have called for an immediate investigation into the 800 bodies found in the mass grave at the abandoned Catholic facility for unwed mothers.

A PETITION has been started imploring the Irish Prime Minister for Justice and Equality to launch a full investigation into the mass grave containing nearly 800 children or babies in the backyard of the Catholic children’s home in Tuam, Co Galway.

Noted, signed---thank you for presenting this BMutiny. It is past disgraceful. I knew an old man who was in a place much like that as a child. They were seldom fed and once, in the early 1930's, our government gave them a year's supply of a popular cereal brand. Then they were tested by doctors--not treated---just tested. They were told later that they were being tested to see what the results of the radiation in the cereal was. A select few were often raped during the night. There were some pretty brutal beatings and actually worse "punishments". This poor fellow said, he was chosen to bake bread from the middle of the night until breakfast, and that was just about all they ate, made with infested white and wheat flour. I'll spare you just how infested. Now, on this finding ---Pope Francis has managed to remain unscathed, pretty much, even through the mention in the media, including TV news, that he went ahead and made a Saint of one who had committed genocide on The American Indians in California. That takes some "cheek" and a word that is the opposite of goodness comes to mind. If all of the Catholic church's sins were discovered at once, most of us wouldn't live long enough to read the entire list.

In this paragraph:
"Members of Parliament have called for an immediate investigation into the 800 bodies found in the mass grave at the abandoned Catholic facility for unwed mothers.
A petition has been started imploring the Irish Prime Minister for Justice and Equality to launch a full investigation into the mass grave containing nearly 800 children or babies in the backyard of the Catholic children’s home in Tuam, Co Galway."

The WORDS, "a petition has been started", should be in RED. Click on those!
The title of the Petition is, Justice for Buried Babies and it is on the avaaz site.

I've come to realize that this particular "quotation" is actually meant as SATIRE - altho I wasn't sure at first!
The property where the 800 children's remains were found, was ABANDONED for years - and the bodies were found BY ACCIDENT, by a Historian who was exploring the site.

Many Believing Catholics believe, that YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN unless you are buried "in sanctified ground". This means, that the MOTHERS AND FAMILIES OF THOSE KIDS, think their kids CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN. The CHILDREN, who were "illegitimate", shared THE "SIN" OF THEIR MOTHERS in having had unsanctified sex out-of-wedlock. This of course only added to the Mothers' distress over the kids' deaths. The Church says your KID is ETERNALLY PUNISHED.... ETERNALLY..... for the Bad Thing YOU did...

"During the era when the home was in operation, the Catholic Church ran most of Ireland’s social service programs."
That MEANT, that during this period if you were an Unwed Mother, YOU HAD NO CHOICE but to go to one of these Catholic-Nun-run "Mothers and Babies Homes". THERE WAS NOWHERE ELSE - no Secular Institutions in Ireland!
[Probably you weren't allowed to birth your baby AT HOME WITH YOUR PARENTS, or in a Ditch somewhere...]
Further reasons WHY WE MUST ALWAYS KEEP STATE & CHURCH, SEPARATE....
