When you look at Muslim scholar Dalia Mogahed, what do you see: a woman of faith? a scholar, a mom, a sister? or an oppressed, brainwashed, potential terrorist? TED Talk

What I see is a beautiful woman who is self confident and proud of the person she is. I see a woman with a beautiful smile that reaches her eyes. Yes, I do see that by her hijab that she is a Muslim but that isn't what I noticed first. I wish people would see the *person* and not the signs of the religion or issues. Too many people judge others by color, race, sexual orientation, handicapped/disabled, gender, religion, age (and others I've unintentionally left out). Decisions to like or dislike a person shouldn't be based on any preconceived notions. Each of us should get to know the *person* before making any decision about like or dislike. Great opportunities for wonderful friendships are lost when you decide to dislike or hate based how you 'think' the person is.
Thanks M B.

TY Marcia************* You say it!
I stick to my comment in Healthy Living, Global Healing 'Why Do We Hate and Judge Others?'
That's why I posted this one in the first place.
I'm distracted, coz The Voice (BBC) is on!

You're welcome M B. I get so tired of people judging others for the wrong reasons. I'd hate to say how many times I see that look of judgment and disdain because I am overweight and use a walker. Overweight because of many medications I'm on that all cause weight gain. Walker because of broken bones in the spine. But because people prejudge me, they don't get to know me. Because of extremist Muslims all Muslims are judged as bad. Same for any other factor people want to use to prejudge anyone the see. It's wrong and it's things like this that cause various wars. There are of course other reasons but prejudgement is always a factor.
