I woke up today with another sinking feeling. I thought I've gotten used to them - sinking feelings, by now...but no.

Mother, and, all mothers shed endless tears. Will man's evilness ever end? Heartsick.

War is hell. The consequence of hell is hellish situations. These wars in the Middle East and elsewhere create monsterous societal abuses that in a liveable viable society are kept in check and pro-social behaviors are encouraged. What this woman talks about in this article are the results of hell that are soon forgotten about after the pictures of death and destruction no longer fills the TV screens.
War is hell and the 'demons' are released because of it.
There are a few not-for-profit organizations in the world that are trying to stop child slavery, etc. but they are small.

Quite often, I consider the complaints of my friends -- lonely, dateless, housed (but not to their wants), fed (but equally insufficiently, according to their wants) . . . and then I read stories like this, which are abundant.

THIS is the reality that "common people," trying to live in a war zone, must deal with.

I can only wish that more could read (and comprehend) the very real horror in which those who are subjected to living in such circumstances endure when "leaders" make decisions that make them invisible and their lives "numbers."

Thank you Eleanor for never losing your compassion. And always reminding us of what is really happening however horrible - the truth is often so terrible but must be told.
