Commend program that specially trains dogs to alert diabetics of changing blood sugar levels. The dogs were also able to warn their owners of impending low blood sugars, which works to help decrease the chances of unconscious episodes..Please SIGN!

I am diabetic , live alone and i have gone unconscious almost into a coma state. Actually I have been too close many times and some how by miracle got myself up but I was I severe shape. It's terrible. I never heard of dogs being trained to help with this but I think it's a great idea. if you are not diabtic you may not understand how serious this is when you go unconscious or even just start acting weird ,falling all ver and other things when your blood sugar is too low or too high .But It's the too low that brings on the coma possibility. Please consider signing.

This was never posted which tells me people probably just don't understand diabetes.
Thanks In Advance...

It has been posted Prima, i had signed it, but glad you've posted again.
My mother is diabetic.

AniMaeChi, I'm sorry you posted it. usually if I put one in with the same URL it tells me It's been posted. Thank You for noting again and already signed so that's great.

Thank You to everyone who has signed /noted. If I had a dog near me that could wake me up when I have been headed into a pretty deep coma too many times that would be incredible. I never knew they trained and that these dogs existed. By instinvct I assume many pets can sense it.

It's extremely scary whether you live alone or have others around . Expecially when you live alone. So at least AniMaeChi you understand what can happen. I am sorry it was double posted and that url should have been the same if from the same site.

Thank You to all who signed previously or now and noted.
Any amount of signatures help - I wa not aware of these service dogs in training but I will tell you it would save lives.

I didn't expect many people to sign or note because it is hard to realize what diabetes can do to you. Even when you have it ,it takes awhile to really hit you how sick you can and many of us get.

Losing the limbs, eye sight-blindness, the neuropathy (OMG -the worst) and those comas you head into when too low are scary and good luck waking up after unconscious... If you feel the symptoms and do something like get juice fast ,it makes a huge difference.

I was in the hospital at a Dr's appt ,not for diabetes and my blood sugar went too low and I was shaking ,clammy andf was falling all over the place .I knew I was going to faint. Some office guy rushed out a chair for me to sit down.I was getting on the elevators and he rushed that chair out to me and juice in hand. 5 minutes was a huge difference for me. Diabetics know what I'm talking about and probably some family members /friends.

****I appreciate people signing and noting more than you'll all know :-)) TY!

This is just incredible. Diabetes wiped out my mother's side of the family; they died either blind, amputated, or very young. This is wonderful to read-thank you.

Allan, I'm so sorry to hear about your mothers side of the family. It is very serious and I lost family members with the same issues . I am diabetic a long time.Since childhood. I think this is a great idea and I'm glad you signed /noted. I really neever heard of this before. It is hard for people to really understand how serious diabetes is. Thank You very much Allan and everyone else for noting this.
