yes it is awful to live with, I have 2 forms of it, the spasodic though most parts of mybody mentioned so it's generalized, and also full body slow and rapid jerking which is also generalized as it's the whole body, and different from the cramping, my shoulder sockets are just above given out. And for me, it's from antidepressants, and 3 months worth of bipolar medication that damaged me for life as well, I was misdiagnosed for a neurolgical illness I ahve M.E./CFS. There is the genic form which can be called a disease, I don;t know that damaged from medications is a disease itself, it damages the basial ganglia of the brain which is already usually damaged wtih M.E. and the CNS sysmtoms. however dis-ease of the body certainly classifies. Dykenisa is close in many aspects in some cases and als there is geneic although most are caused by drugs

Thanks for sharing this with other people Cheryl because I don't think there is enough awareness about & for Dystonia & we so badly need a cure for it!!!! I have Generalized Dystonia myself & my Dystonia also affects my speech!!! I got Botox injections which does help my tremors but I know Deep Brain Stimulation might also be a helpful option in my case but it scares me too much & have no interest in doing it!!!
