... But with the terror attack last Friday, Palestinian terrorism made a leap of quality: the use of the mosques as preparation to kill two Israeli police officers. For radical Islam and Palestinians, these places are the basis of terror against Israel. The Palestinian use of the holy places dates back to the era of the Grand Muftì of Jerusalem, the ally of Hitler Hajj Amin al Husseini, who hid weapons and terrorists in the mosques. Sheikh Yusuf al Qaradawi, guru of the Muslim Brotherhood from which Hamas was born, theorized the role of the mosque in the Jihad, while ayatollah Khomeini, inspirer of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, defined the mosque as “fortress of Jihad”.

NETANYAHU SAYS OPENING WILL BE GRADUAL WITH NEW SECURITY MEASURES; ARAB-ISRAELI GUNMEN WHO SHOT DEAD TWO POLICE OFFICERS ON FRIDAY SAID TO HAVE STORED WEAPONS AT COMPOUND DAYS EARLIER
Israel will gradually reopen the Temple Mount compound to Muslim worshippers on Sunday, having closed the site for the first time since 1969 after three Arab-Israelis shot dead two Israeli police officers there on Friday morning.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the decision to reopen the site following a telephone conversation Saturday evening with the heads of the police, the Shin Bet, and Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan.

The closure drew furious complaints from the Jordanian-appointed Waqf Muslim trust that administers the compound and the Al-Aqsa Mosque there, prompted a demonstration in Jordan, and provoked criticism from much of the Arab world. Israel, which closed off the site throughout Friday and Saturday, said it was searching for weaponry and for information related to the attack.

Israel also restricted access to the Old City to non-residents on Saturday, set up new checkpoints in East Jerusalem, and limited traffic on some roads close to the Old City.

“It was decided to gradually reopen the site tomorrow to worshippers, visitors and tourists,” a statement from Netanyahu’s office said late Saturday. In addition it was decided to set up cameras and sensors and detectors at all the gates leading into the site, the statement said, promising “further additional security measures.”

Shortly after the Israel Police announced that Muslim worshipers can return the Temple Mount, the holy site was shut down again due to the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf officials’ protest against the new security measures. “It’s an embarrassment to go through a checkpoint of the occupation to Al-Aqsa,” the Muslim worshipers said while gathering for a massive prayer session outside of the holy site.

Muslim worshipers were allowed to return to the Temple Mount on Sunday after the holy site was closed for two days in light of Friday morning’s deadly terror attack. Ahead of the reopening and in accordance with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s instructions, metal detectors were placed at the entrance to the holy site.

Halevy was interviewed by Channel 2 News on Friday and said that the security inspection routine at the holy site will undergo changes in light of the terror attack. “The inspection in the past few years has been based on a level of identification combined with the awareness of officers who are positioned at every entrance and have gained a lot of experience,” he explained. “They check every bag but do not conduct strip searches or a technological inspection. From now on, the inspection will be different, and this will have great significances. There are times when thousands of people enter the compound.”

Yes, good to hear from you, and horrible that nothing ever seems to improve anywhere in the world as religion continues to be the Great Divider, not the Great Uniter, I believe our creator intended Her presence to be. Men are so filled with power lust they cannot see their insanity will destroy all that they hold dear, including our species as the planet itself is made uninhabitable for oxygen breathing life. At least that life which remains after men and their bombs and guns are finally, one hopes, through trying to kill everyone who is not exactly the same as they are and believes exactly the same thing. Free will has NEVER been understood here. I truly doubt it will be. Unless divine intervention actually occurs and even then, many would still doubt that love is the ultimate answer to every question.
