‘It was unclear why the coal mine was still in operation’??? What ways to get the authorities notice disasters in the making! This time by paying the price for robbing 26 miners’ families for its only they who have lost their earning members and have loads ahead to suffer...
Why cant man stay away from drilling the sea, drilling the earth.. Why can’t he just care to live a simple life.... why cant he be content…. Why does he degrade himself.. Is it so hard and below his dignity to learn from the silent lives around to live and let live and make do with whatever is around? Survival is no longer the concern her it’s purely his greed… for man has to stop before he ends up well…not even on the street…
May be this is one reason why more and more animals species are being found.
Respect the earth..

Greener energy plans are the only answer, Melody. Further, I think that China, ironically, will fast outpace the West's attempts at the solution. That is, until the Chinese Corporations run amok like in the West. Maybe.

The miners went back into this mine because the owner told them so? How sad is it to risk your life because if you do not do what you're told you may lose your job. Well, they lost their lives, and the government won't do a damn thing to the mine owner as it's government controlled. Nobody OWNS anything in a Communist country.

How many more coal mine disasters will happen as well as the death of far too many people - before governments and businesses wake up and end this dirty dangerous source of fuel?

When America does not close unsafe mines and protect our citizens, are we any better than other countries, who don't appear to worry about their miners?

Sad... but just more of the same from China and their mines. Look at America's mines... we have far superior safety protocols but we still have accidents. In China, safety concerns are way down the line on priorities and and seriously underfunded. Until that changes, we will continue to see stories like this repeated over and over.
