Here's hoping that they are able to find a suitable home for Silent Knight to live out the rest of his days in carefree comfort.

I can't belive anyone doing that....California is "supposed" to be a very progressive state. This shows that cruelty and stupidy is everywhere.

Such unbelieveable cruelty. Are these people sick enough to find some sort of sport in doing this. Sadly noted and thank you, Anna.

It never fails to amaze me how awful humans can be! I should be surprised and shocked but alas I am not. How sad is that. Thanks for the news. Noted.

How can anyone get pleasure out of doing something so horrible? Well, I assume they got pleasure out of hurting a defenceless sea lion or they wouldn't have done it. Now the poor thing must suffer for the rest of its life just because of a cruel and evil individual’s few minutes of “fun”.

How terribly sad that people just do not seem to be able to appreciate the wonders of our incredible wildlife and that , for whatever reason, there is some repulsive need to destroy it. Thank you for this story.

Sad to hear about the shooting and hope the animal recovers to lead a good, long and happy life. The more publicity this man made tragedy gets, the more people are likely to respond in a protective manner. By teaching our young children to love and respect animals like these, we make our world a better place for all of us.

Are people getting more twisted or is it just that with technology and instant news we hear about it more? Whatever the truth, it is a sad statement that not only are some people so cruel but that taxpayers and private industry must pay the costs to try to repair the damage. Senseless!

As long as America allows "everybody & his dog" to have guns these incidents will be happening FOREVER

What is it with some humans killing animals. The sea lions are minding their own business, and aren't safe. So uncalled for. Thanks Anna.

Noted. Just what are the poor sea lions doing to deserve this type of treatment? They need to eat to live. Smarten up people! We have enough animals on the extinct list!
