The predominant historical narrative in the West is that Muslims are the historic "victims" of "intolerant" Western Christians. The truth is closer to the reverse of that Historical truth has been forgotten by the oligarchy that rules the WEST !

This sort of Jihad and intolerance is deeply ingrained in the culture of the regions that used to form Caliphates. It comes from the basic social contract by which their societies are organized. ISIS, al Qaeda, Boko Haram, the (now defeated, I think) rebels of Mali, al Shabaab and a others are just some of the more recent manifestations.
